Football Recap: Denver Edge Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

During a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 win over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and kicker Wil Lutz provided the game-winning decisive three-pointer to seal the ugly win.

Defensive Display Seals Contest

Even with registering nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following giving up a safety in the second half. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 total net yards throughout the entire game.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's short kick with approximately five minutes remaining.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Offense

Despite their horrendous offensive display, the Jets still had the ball with a chance to drive for a potential winning score. But Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion rather than calling on kicker Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

Fields struggled all game, completing just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets finished with negative ten net yards passing, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"The aerial attack was non-existent," Glenn stated after the contest.
